What is Applied Kinesiology?

Applied Kinesiology is a functional assessment tool that uses muscle testing to understand how the body responds to different stimuli. This discipline makes it possible to identify imbalances in the coordination between muscles, the nervous system, and other bodily functions.

Through this analysis, factors that interfere with wellbeing can be detected—such as muscular tension, postural alterations, or potential irritants—and treatment can be guided in a fully personalised way.

The aim is to restore the body’s functional balance and contribute to improving the patient’s overall health and wellbeing.

What Do We Offer?

Solutions

  • Relief of chronic pain – Helps reduce muscular and joint discomfort derived from orofacial and postural tension

  • Selection of dental materials – Allows individual testing of materials to be used according to each patient’s neuromuscular response

  • Detection of irritants – Identifies potentially problematic factors through specific muscle tests

  • Individualised biological parameters – Analyses the body’s response to optimise the fabrication of prostheses adapted to each person

  • Muscle-tested splints – Fabrication of functional devices tested at a neuromuscular level to ensure effectiveness and comfort

The Team

  • Dr. Ramon Bernades Mayordomo
Specialist in Applied Kinesiology and trained in Meersseman Splint therapy.

  • Dr. Eulàlia Torrente Castells
Training in Applied Kinesiology and Meersseman Splint therapy.

Our Way of Working

At Empordà Odontòlegs, we use Applied Kinesiology with a safe, personalised, and integrative approach.

  • Global treatment approach – We integrate the mouth, posture, and neuromuscular function within the patient’s overall health.

  • Precise and personalised assessment – We use muscle testing to detect tension, blockages, and dysfunctions that are often invisible.

  • Multidisciplinary coordination – We work with other specialists when necessary to optimise neuromuscular and postural function.

  • Integrative outcomes – We analyse the root causes of imbalances, not only the symptoms, to help improve the patient’s overall health.

A Warm and Caring Team
